Asian American Federation of New York opens New York Stock Exchange
NEW YORK, May 11, 2006 � The Asian American Federation of New York opened the New York Stock Exchange yesterday in celebration of Asian Pacific Heritage Month. Gina Lin Chu, "Asian American Federation of New York Philanthropist of the Year" and wife of Nautica Founder and Chief Executive Officer, DC Designs International LLC, David Chu rang The Opening BellSM to the Exchange. She was joined on-stage by Yung Duk Kim, former President and CEO, Hyundai Corporation (USA); Curtis S. Chin, Managing Director, Burson-Marsteller; Sunil Wadhwa, Director, Client Services, Gravitas Technology, Inc.; and Ekta Singh, Principle, Ernst & Young LLP - all board members of the Asian American Federation of New York (AAFNY). Also present were Federation executives Cao K. O, Michelle Tong, Esq. and Kendra Lee.
The Asian American Federation of New York is THE leading multi-issue, pan Asian, leadership organization in New York that works to meet the needs of all Asian Americans in the nations largest metropolitan area.
The Federation also brings together the city's diverse Asian American communities and supports some 40 member agencies. It helps build these group's capacity, promotes more strategic philanthropy and strengthens delivery of community services to communities ranging from Korean-American youth to the Japanese elderly to the small businesses of Chinatown, still working to recovery from the effects of 9/11.
